From: Pathogenic mechanisms of deregulated microRNA expression in thyroid carcinomas of follicular origin
Deregulated miRNA expression in thyroid carcinomas of follicular origin in comparison to normal thyroid tissue. Altered expression of miRNAs observed by indicated studies is represented by color coding. Deregulated expression was classified as up- (red), unaffected (grey) or downregulated (green) in comparison to non-transformed thyroid tissue based on individual studies. Contradictory data are indicated by boxes. The presented data base on different thresholds, were quantified using distinct methods and more importantly distinct miRNA sets. Thus, the presented summary of observed miRNA signatures remains incomplete, preliminary and requires substantial further validation. This is particularly important for FTCs and PDTCs for both of which only a very limited set of microRNAs has been analyzed.
