Lipid peroxidation, measured as MDA + 4-HDA level, in porcine thyroid homogenates. Homogenates were incubated in the presence of KI alone [500; 250; 100; 50; 25; 10; 5.0; 2.5; 1.0; 0.5; 0.25 mM] or in the presence of KI [500; 250; 100; 50; 25; 10; 5.0; 2.5; 1.0; 0.5; 0.25 mM] together with one substrate of Fenton reaction, namely in the presence of FeSO₄ [30 μM]. Data are expressed as nmol/mg protein. Data are from three independent experiments. Values are expressed as mean ± SE (error bars). No statistical differences between respective concentrations of KI (i.e. in the presence and in the absence of Fe²⁺) were found.
